Francis Ngannou sends Anthony Joshua chilling threat ahead of boxing match: “Taking his soul”
PFL heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou is out to take Anthony Joshua’s soul in their boxing match next month.
‘The Predator’ recently signed a deal to return opposite ‘AJ’ in Saudi Arabia on March 8th in Saudi Arabia. For those who remember, Anthony Joshua was initially expected to face Deontay Wilder on that date. However, due to ‘The Bronze Bomber’ being upset by Joseph Parker in December, he was replaced by Francis Ngannou.
For the former UFC champion, the boxing match will be his second. Last October, Francis Ngannou famously debuted in Saudi Arabia against lineal heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury. Despite entering the bout as a massive underdog, he nearly upset ‘The Gpysy King’. Ultimately, Fury scraped by with a split-decision win, despite suffering a third-round knockdown.
For his boxing return against Anthony Joshua, Francis Ngannou doesn’t plan to leave it to the judges. Speaking in a recent interview with the High Performance Podcast, the PFL heavyweight discussed his next boxing match. There, he sent a message to his future opponent.
In the interview, Francis Ngannou stated that he planned to take Anthony Joshua’s soul next month in their boxing match. While he’s currently the underdog for the March 8th pay-per-view headliner, he seems confident that he will get the job done.
Francis Ngannou sends Anthony Joshua a chilling message ahead of March boxing match
“Never say never. Nothing is impossible. We don’t know the strength of Anthony Joshua.” Francis Ngannou stated on the podcast, admitting that his next fight with ‘AJ’ is far from a guaranteed win. “Even though I don’t believe he has that strength, we’re going to find out [if he does].”
He continued, “In two months, we’re going to find out. I’m going to be the one taking his soul.” (h/t GB News)
Francis Ngannou’s comments are very similar to his prior sentiments about the bout. Immediately following the bout’s announcement, the former UFC champion stated that he planned to test Anthony Joshua. Ngannou also referenced the fact that some have taken aim at the Brit’s supposedly lackluster chin.
Regardless, the boxing match promises to be an exciting one. While Francis Ngannou is coming off a split-decision defeat to Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua is red-hot entering the matchup. The former two-time champion is currently riding a three-fight winning streak, last knocking out Otto Wallin in December.
While the British boxer hoped to meet Deontay Wilder after the win, he will instead meet an equally powerful heavyweight in the form of Francis Ngannou.
What do you make of these comments from ‘The Predator’? Are you excited for Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua next month? Who do you have winning in that boxing match?
