Sean O’Malley comments on Merab Dvalishvili’s UFC 298 win over Henry Cejudo: “Decent little fight from a couple little dudes”
UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has shared his take on the recent pivotal bantamweight matchup between Merab Dvalishvili and Henry Cejudo.
O’Malley was sitting in the crowd and he witnessed Merab score a unanimous decision victory over Cejudo inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California during UFC 298. O’Malley will be putting his gold on the line against Marlon “Chito” Vera at UFC 299, and the winner might be in for a clash against Dvalishvili.
The “Sugar” show commented on Merab’s performance once the UFC 298 event wrapped up.
Sean O’Malley Shares Take On Merab Dvalishvili’s Win Over Henry Cejudo
Sean O’Malley was interviewed during the UFC 298 post-fight show. When asked about Merab’s showing against Cejudo, O’Malley shared his thoughts on what transpired in the bantamweight clash (h/t MMAFighting.com).
“It’s interesting watching fights live compared to on the TV,” O’Malley said addressing Dvalishvili vs. Cejudo on the UFC 298 post-fight show. “I’d like to watch it back on the TV to really give full input. It was decent.
“I heard rumors that Henry had some injuries going into the fight. He looked a little winded, but Merab looked good. Decent little fight from a couple little dudes.”
O’Malley’s focus is currently on “Chito” Vera, the only man to have defeated him in his pro MMA career. The 135-pound champion isn’t losing sight of the task at hand.
“Three weeks, UFC 299, everything’s going so good,” he said. “I’ve got to get through Chito before I can start saying I might fight him, I might fight him, I might fight this guy.”
Merab will be watching UFC 299 with great interest, as he looks to punch his ticket to a UFC title opportunity for the first time in his pro MMA career.
