WWE Champion Seth Rollins explains why no current UFC fighter can successfully transition to pro wrestling: “They don’t have the stamina for it”
WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins thinks there’s one key aspect MMA fighters are lacking when it comes to transitioning to pro wrestling.
In the past we’ve seen fighters such as Ken Shamrock and Dan Severn find success in pro wrestling. In the modern era, it was Ronda Rousey who became a multiple-time women’s champion under the WWE banner. Even in the best case scenario, such as Rousey’s, however, Rollins believes it was a struggle even for the “Rowdy” one.
Rollins feels it comes down to a significant difference between having stamina for a wrestling match, and having it for an MMA fight.

Seth Rollins On Why No Current UFC Fighter Can Hang In WWE
During an interview with ESPN’s Marc Raimondi, Seth Rollins was asked if he thinks there is anybody on the current UFC roster who could have success in WWE. Seth gave his honest answer (via MMAMania.com).
“They don’t have the stamina for it,” WWE champion Seth Rollins told ESPN MMA. “They don’t fight every single weekend. Especially the top stars over there, they’re catered to a certain way. That’s great, that’s their style, that’s what works for them. I understand that. You fight maybe once, twice a year. You’re crazy if you’re fighting three times a year. But to fight over 100 times a year, make all those towns, still be able to train, still be able to do all the media, it’s an exhausting industry.”
Rollins went on to say that while he doesn’t want to put down what Ronda Rousey was able to achieve, Rollins said even she struggled with the demand of the industry.
“I don’t wanna knock Ronda Rousey, because I love Ronda,” Rollins continued. “She did a lot for our industry, for women in our industry, and for the fight industry in general. It was tough for Ronda. She tried her damndest and it was hard for her. I’d love for somebody to come over and take a crack if you think you can hang, but it’s hard. I’ll call them all out man, I don’t care, try it out. I can’t do what they do, I’d go in there and get knocked out and choked out in two seconds. I’ll probably do better than [CM] Punk, but I still would lose, most likely.”
