ONE 165: ‘Superlek vs. Takeru’ Live Results and Highlights

ONE Championship returns to Tokyo, Japan, for tonight’s highly anticipated ONE 165 pay-per-view event.

The eleven-bout fight card is headlined by a flyweight kickboxing bout between Superlek Kiatmuu9 (136-29-4) and Takeru Segawa (43-3).

Superlek enters the contest on a ten-fight winning streak, his most recent being a unanimous decision victory over Rodtang Jitmuangnon this past September.

Meanwhile, Takeru Segawa was last seen in action this past June in Paris, where he scored a fifth-round head kick KO victory over Bailey Sugden.

Tonight’s ONE 165 event is co-headlined by a highly anticipated lightweight MMA fight between Sage Northcutt and Shinya Aoki.

Northcutt (12-3 MMA), a former UFC fighter, is returning to action for the first time since scoring a 39-second submission win over Ahmed Mujtaba in May of last year (see that here). Immediately following that impressive victory, which marked his first fight in 4 years, ‘Super Sage’ called for a fight with Japanese MMA legend.

Meanwhile, Shinya Aoki (47-11 MMA) ultimately accepted Sage Northcutt’s challenge and enters tonight’s contest looking to snap a two-fight losing skid. The 40-year-old veteran had previously suffered back-to-back TKO losses to Yoshihiro Akiyama and Saygid Izagakhmaev respectively. Prior to those setbacks, ‘Tobikan Jūdan’ had put together a four-fight winning streak.
