UFC veteran Matt Brown lauds Ian Machado Garry for “championship level” striking ahead of UFC 298: “The dude looks f*cking tremendous”
UFC veteran Matt Brown believes that Ian Machado Garry has what it takes to win a UFC title.
Garry is set to take on Geoff Neal on the main card of UFC 298 this Saturday night. Garry will look to keep his unbeaten record intact when he meets “Handz of Steel” inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. “The Future” has been on the fast track on his climb up the welterweight rankings. If Garry continues to win in impressive fashion, he could be become one of the UFC’s biggest stars, whether you like him or not.
Count “The Immortal” as a believer.

Matt Brown Sees Ian Machado Garry As A Championship Fighter
Matt Brown once again spoke to Damon Martin for another edition of MMAFighting.com‘s “The Fighter vs. The Writer.” On the show, Brown shared his belief that Ian Machado Garry has shown elite-level traits.
“Ian Garry is championship f****** level material,” Brown said. “I don’t give a f*** about all the sideshow s***. That dude is championship level, at least with the right matchups with the striking guys.
“I don’t know about his wrestling yet. I haven’t seen him on his back. I haven’t watched a lot of his fights to be honest but the ones that I have watched, they were striking battles, the dude looks f****** tremendous and he looks championship level.”
Brown went on to say that while the punching power of Geoff Neal should never be overlooked, he feels Garry has all the tools to defeat “Handz of Steel.” He said that while he doesn’t entirely rule out Neal pulling off a surprise win, he thinks the striking of Ian Machado Garry is on an elite level. It won’t be long to find out who will get their way.
