Ariane Lipski in need of new opponent for UFC Argentina after Maryna Moroz suffers broken foot

UFC Argentina has taken a hit as Maryna Moroz is going to have to pull out of her upcoming bout with ‘The Violence Queen’ Ariane Lipski at UFC Argentina.

Maryna-Moroz

Initially, this bout was made thanks to an injury as Moroz was to face off with Veronica Macedo before Macedo suffered an injury of her own that led to the former KSW flyweight champion Lipski stepping in.

Now it is the replacement fighter and UFC newcomer Lipski who will need to find a new opponent as Moroz announced today that she has broken her left foot.

Hi friends. I am very sad 😔 I got injured and not be able to have a fight. I want to say thank you my team @gor__mma. this is a sport.

For Moroz, this fight was to be her first fight back at flyweight since 2014 when she defeated Ilona Avdeeva via first round TKO. Since then Moroz has gone 4-3 (3-3) and currently rides the first losing streak of her career after back to back losses to former Invicta champions Angela Hill and Carla Esparza (also a former UFC champion).

With UFC Argentina taking place on November 17 in Buenos Aires there is still time for someone to step on and try and end the Violence Queen’s dominant nine-fight winning streak. However, that will be easier said than done and quite a challenge for anyone even with a full camp.

The 24-year old consensus top flyweight worldwide has proven herself to be one of the very best and it was only a matter of time before she made her way over to the UFC. Now we just have to wait and see if she will get to start her journey sooner rather than later.
